..again, it’s been a while. Such things as children, work and so on seem to get in front of my whisky musings. Never mind.
It’s been a busy time in my Whisky world. A recent work event was capped with a quick whisky tasting session by the entertaining and enthusiastic Joe Hughes from Morrison Bowmore Distillers. Just imagine the scene: 120 suits from big corportae brands, in a seminar about communication and customer journeys, then at the end, we have Joe (one of the initial speakers) getting everyone up off their feet, rubbing their hands in whisky, deeply inhaling and sampling a lovely....Bowmore 12 yo and 15 yo old too. A good comparison, as the 15 is deeply influenced by the sherry cask it was finished in. Lovely. The wonders of whisky, eh? Perhaps we should have done this at the start to break the ice and all that!
On the back of this, im headed to Galsgow next week. Being based just 25 mins from Auchentoshan (one of Morrison Bowmore’s, alongside Bowmore and Glen Garioch I believe) I have therefore arranged a visit. Looking at their website, they appear to be well organised and clean! The big plus for me is that it’s another one to tick off the list, plus i LOVE Auchentoshan 3 wood. Piccies will follow.
Last, but by no means least, i’ve cleared 2 spaces on the shelf at home. Caol Ila is gone and Bladnoch Distiller’s Choice will be gone tonight. With payday approaching, i have new space. I’m thinking Ardbeg 10yo and Auchentoshan 3 wood. Perhaps i should wait to visit the distillery first..
Almost forgot. New year, new tasting sessions. First one is this Thursday. No idea who, but will post an update..
